Beloved Husband and Father

October 31, 1925 – January 20, 2019

93 Years of Age

 

Retired Chief Master Sergeant Angus J. Wright (Patterson) served in the Army and Air Force with combined service of over 26 years. He was a veteran of World War Two, the Korean era conflict and Vietnam era. 

Chief Wright (A J) served as a Radar and Radio Man while in the Army during WWII, and for the Air Force in the Strategic Air Command as a crew member on B-50 Bombers, in the Tactical Air Command as a First Sergeant, and ended his career as a member of the Air Defense Command where he retired as the NCOIC of Depot Level Maintenance for the Air Force’s Radar systems worldwide. His military career took him to assignments in the U.S. and its territories, Europe, South and Central America and Canada.

A bright and curious student of life he decided to take up art in his forties and became an accomplished painter and sculptor. He returned to school in his late forties to pursue a degree in the multiple disciplines of History, French and Spanish and graduated Magna Cum Laude and as the valedictorian of his class from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Imogene Harvey. He is also survived by son Stephen and wife Linda, son Richard and wife Rose and their sons Richard, Christopher and Eric, and great granddaughter Jenna, and his beloved dog April.

Memorial service and interment will be at the Fort Sam Houston military cemetery on Friday, February 8th at 11:15 AM.
