Daniel Fay Obituary

A celebration of the life of Daniel Patrick Fay will be held on November 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Eye of the Dog Art Center, 405 Valley View West Dr., San Marcos, TX.

Dan was born on December 9, 1944 in Oak Park, IL. and passed away November 7, 2018 in San Marcos, TX.  He was a graduate of LSU (Baton Rouge, LA.) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.  After proudly serving his country during the Vietnam War he began his life long career in Commercial Construction moving up the ranks from Superintendent to General Superintendent to Project Manager and finally Corporate Scheduler.  One of his favorite scheduling jobs was the renovation of the State Capital in Austin.

He was married to the love of his life, Mary-Anne Jones Fay for 50 years and they had two sons, Shawn Patrick (Tracy), Ryan Tomas’ (Ma Linda) and one granddaughter Riley Paige.

Dan leaves behind six brothers and seven sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Leo R. Fay and Marjorie Minzing Fay.

He enjoyed boating, water skiing, tubing the Guadalupe and spending time with his sons in Indian Guides and their father/sons camping trips.

Known for his quick wit, dry sense of humor and the charm of an Irish lad, Dan was respected and loved by co-workers and friends alike. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio) in a private ceremony.

Go in peace and may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
