The Life of Michael Ray Campbell:
Michael was born in Longmont, Colorado on February 27, 1953 to Raymond Campbell and Margaret Ann
Mandelko Campbell. His father Raymond passed away when Michael was a young child.
Margaret remarried into an air force family, in which moving frequently became the norm. Michael even
attended an elementary school in Morocco for some time. He attended Longmont High School. After
graduating, he answered the call to serve our country and joined the army. He later continued his
service in the reserves. As a civilian, Michael attended Colorado Mountain College, in Leadville,
Colorado.
Michael chose cadcam engineering as his profession, for a career extending over 30 years, many miles,
and throughout many states. He declared himself the “cadgod” to family and friends. His most recent
employment brought him to Austin, Texas.
Michael passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret. He leaves behind his wife, Carmen
Ned, his daughters, Rachel (Cameron) Neuhart, Natalie (Geovanni) Kotz, Jennifer (Todd) Kotz, and son
Kurt (Lindsay) Kotz, many grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
As Michael had always declared, he did not want a “fuss” made when he passed. The family paid their
final respects in private.
Michael was our own living dog whisperer. His love for dogs was unparalleled, having had many pets
over the years, including his current dogs, Nonnie and Rex (gdmmit). The family was often known to
consult him before acquiring a new pet. If you are inclined to do something in his honor, please make a
donation to your local animal shelter or rescue organization.
