Milan Stonebreaker, Jr. Obituary

Major Milan Franklin Stonebreaker, Jr. better known as Stoney died peacefully October 5, 2018.  Stoney was born December 4, 1930 to parents Milan Franklin Stonebreaker, Sr. and Helen Ruth Stevens.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sondra McConnell, a brother Thorton Steve Stonebreaker and a son Milan F. Stonebreaker III.  Stoney is survived by his wife Janice (Simpson) Stonebreaker, six children, Menka, Kent, Amy, Todd, Cindy, Christopher and leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

 

Stoney was an officer in the United State Army for the Majority of his life and made a career of serving his country.  He served with distinction during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  After retiring from the military he made Texas his home and spent several years in the hospital environment as the Director of Facilities at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City, Tx.  Stoney loved to travel and meet people and was involved with the Sons of the American Revolution and in his spare time he liked to research his genealogy.  Stoney had a great sense of humor and will be missed by many.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 2:30 pm at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. TX.  Family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to HDSA.ORG or CMTAUSA.ORG.  Thank you.
